Pelvic External Fixator-Three Section Type: Modular Stabilization System For Pelvic Trauma
The Three Section Type Pelvic External Fixator is a specialized modular orthopedic fixation system designed for emergency management and staged reconstruction of pelvic fractures. Different from conventional integrated fixators, its unique three-section segmented structure provides flexible adjustability and precise contour adaptation to the complex irregular anatomy of the human pelvis. Widely applied in severe pelvic trauma, pelvic ring instability and post-traumatic pelvic orthopedic repair, it has become essential standardized equipment for emergency orthopedics and trauma critical care.
Featuring an optimized three-section split design, the fixator consists of adjustable left and right support sections and a central connecting section. This segmented structure allows independent fine adjustment of angle, height and spacing on both sides, perfectly fitting different pelvic widths, deformity degrees and asymmetric pelvic displacements. Surgeons can achieve accurate pelvic ring reduction, restore normal pelvic anatomical symmetry, and establish stable three-dimensional mechanical support. The modular combination structure ensures fast intraoperative assembly, greatly improving the efficiency of emergency trauma surgery.
Clinically, this fixator is mainly indicated for unstable pelvic ring fractures, open pelvic trauma, posterior pelvic complex injuries, and temporary fixation during pelvic minimally invasive reconstruction. As an external fixation solution, it avoids massive pelvic soft tissue dissection and internal implant placement, effectively reducing the risk of massive bleeding, postoperative infection and nerve-vessel injury. Its adjustable structural design supports postoperative fine tuning of pelvic alignment, maintains proper fracture gap, and creates favorable mechanical conditions for bone callus growth and fracture healing.
Manufactured from high-strength medical-grade alloy and stainless steel materials, the three-section pelvic fixator offers outstanding structural rigidity, fatigue resistance and biocompatibility. The lightweight design reduces patient’s body burden and improves wearing comfort. All components are precisely machined with smooth surface treatment, which lowers skin irritation and soft tissue compression. The entire system withstands repeated high-temperature sterilization, meeting long-term and high-frequency clinical reuse standards.
Compared with traditional pelvic fixators, the three-section type features higher anatomical adaptability, more flexible adjustment and more stable overall stress structure. It effectively solves the poor fitting problem of ordinary fixators for asymmetric pelvic fractures, significantly improves surgical accuracy and postoperative recovery effect, and reduces long-term complications such as pelvic malunion. With reliable performance and strong clinical practicability, it is a core fixation device for modern pelvic trauma emergency treatment and orthopedic reconstruction.
