Tibial Plateau Locking Plate: Precision Locking Implant For Proximal Tibial Fracture Fixation
The Tibial Plateau Locking Plate is a specialized anatomical internal fixation implant designed for the treatment of proximal tibial and tibial plateau fractures. Tailored to the unique irregular morphology of the human tibial plateau, this locking plate system adopts an anatomical pre-bent design, perfectly matching the lateral and medial proximal tibial structure. As a core implant for knee joint peripheral fracture surgery, it is widely used in orthopedic trauma and joint reconstruction procedures, providing rigid and stable fixation for complex intra-articular tibial fractures.
Different from traditional ordinary compression plates, the tibial plateau locking plate features a unique screw-plate locking structure. The threaded screw holes enable precise locking connection between screws and the plate body, forming a stable integrated frame structure. This design effectively resists screw loosening, withdrawal and displacement, greatly improving the overall fixation stability. It avoids the stress shielding problem of conventional plates and maintains lasting mechanical support, which is particularly suitable for unstable comminuted fractures and osteoporotic patients with poor bone quality.
The plate adopts an optimized low-profile anatomical contour, which fits closely with the cortical bone surface without excessive intraoperative bending and trimming. The multi-angle distributed screw holes allow directional screw placement, enabling effective fixation of fragmented articular bone blocks and supporting accurate reduction of collapsed tibial plateau articular surfaces. It helps restore the normal mechanical axis of the knee joint, prevent postoperative articular surface collapse, and reduce the incidence of traumatic arthritis.
Clinically, this implant is mainly indicated for various types of tibial plateau fractures, including lateral plateau fractures, medial plateau fractures, bicondylar comminuted fractures and proximal tibial metaphyseal fractures. It is also applicable for fracture fixation after knee joint trauma reconstruction and corrective orthopedic surgery. The locking structure allows early postoperative functional exercise of the knee joint, effectively shortening rehabilitation time and improving joint mobility recovery.
Made of medical-grade titanium alloy or stainless steel, the tibial plateau locking plate offers excellent biocompatibility, high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The smooth thin-plate design reduces subcutaneous bulging and soft tissue irritation, lowering postoperative discomfort and inflammatory reactions. With standardized specifications and high compatibility with conventional orthopedic instruments, it ensures convenient implantation and reliable clinical effects, becoming an essential implant for modern knee peripheral fracture treatment.
